For all Users - expressHR have synchronised and updated field filtering functionality. We have now implemented (*) to allow wild card searching. You now have the benefit of searching in many different ways, depending on where the * is placed. You can insert an * before, after, or at both ends of whatever you are searching on, and gain different results.

For all Eden Brown Users - Please note the following change to the way in which you log in: Passwords are now unified across all sites. If you are prompted to change your password on login please do so; you will then be redirected back to the login page once done. Please enter your newly created password to log in. Please note this password will now be the same for all Matrix sites you have access to including timesheets (Webtime).Please be aware that if your computer automatically remembers your password you will need to delete this and manually enter the newly created password."

Due to its market leading position as a SaaS company expressHR has been chosen by Microsoft for a case study. This case study will be published in November 2007 and will be available via the expressHR web site.

expressHR launched its all new timesheetHR solution which is wholly web based. It has been rolled out to Eden Brown and will be rolled out to other customers over the coming months. This considerable development effort will enable expressHR to offer greater functionality to all customers from a more highly configurable code base.

expressHR have again participated in another one of Microsoft’s invite only Software + Services Partner Advisory Council. At this meeting expressHR assisted Microsoft greatly in shaping/critiquing the Software + Services presentations which will be used at the World Partner Conference in July.

May 2007
expressHR has been awarded Microsoft Partner status. This award recognises expressHR’s expertise in the use of Microsoft technologies. expressHR is one of the first SaaS Independent Software Vendor’s *ISV) to get this award. To accomplished this task it pioneered with Microsoft the certification testing of SaaS based applications. This pioneering work has now been made available to the whole Microsoft ISV partner eco-system world wide.

Security Update
As part of our ongoing security work we have upgraded your application with an enhancement to prevent a specific type of hacking attack. This enhancement limits certain characters that can be added to various fields within this application.

  • As part of expressHR's increased security posture we have submitted our applications and infrastructure to an in depth external security audit by a government approved company. The results of this audit have been excellent and can be made available for customers if required by contacting our Operations Director Paul Raine via paul.raine@expresshr.com . Our commitment to this audit and the excellent results achieved clearly demonstrate expressHR's commitment to minimising the risks for you and your customers when using our applications.

  • January 2007

  • expressHR will be shortly rolling out enhancements for all users which will dramatically speed up data entry. This is called Ajax. Please Click here for a user guide on this additional functionality.
  • 128 bit SSL site delivery has been rolled out.
  • Enhanced forgotten password functionality for Super Users has been rolled out to all sites. Please Click here for a user guide.
  • The software security audit has been carried out and the report will be available shortly.
  • November 2006
    expressHR has a series of security enhancements and these will be provided FOC to all customers. This work shows that we take this area of our business very seriously and are doing everything to mitigate plus minimise security issues within our software and infrastructure. These enhancements are as follows:

  • Setting up innovative technology to detect and then block SQL injection attacks.
  • 128 bit SSL for all site delivery. This will be the default standard and should be rolled out to all sites by the end of
    this month.
  • Enhanced password encryption on all sites by mid Dec and this will include better forgotten password functionality for users to self reset their passwords. expressHR will contact you with details of these changes so your users can be prepared in advance.
  • A software security audit and penetration testing by a CESG Check approved company. The report for this work will be available for all customers early in the New Year and should help you in any future tender responses or audits. expressHR will then put in place regular audits, typically every 6 months, so that the report is always current and we keep up to date with best practice in these 2 areas.

    expressHR has been working on usability enhancements which are taken from the larger global web 2.0 initiative project. Some of these have been incorporated into ITS for trial purposes and they will be rolled out to all sites over the next few months.An example of these changes are quick population of drop down functionality such as by typing in the lowest value in the first combination box, such as Application Description on the log requests page and then on hitting return all boxes are populated.

    Security Update
    A security upgrade has been released to engageHR so only one user can access their login account at any one time. This ensures that we have a better audit trail of actions performed on the system so can help clients track requests for information as to who did what and when. As a consequence of this upgrade if multiple users need to access the system at the same time they need to use separate logins.
    New logins can easily be created in the System Users page in both the Recruitment Manager and Supplier Logins.

    During the month all sites databases were seamlessly upgraded to run on Microsoft SQL 2005. This upgrade gives us greater ability for DR planning and in the longer term graphical data output via Microsoft Excel 2003.

    We now have developed more sophisticated user login functionality which is similar to that offered by on line banking. This functionality has many customisable options and so if you would like further details of what we can now offer in this area then please contact your Account Manager.

    Enhanced Home Page
    'My Home Page' - Users can now set the pages they use most regularly *including filtered lists) as a personal home page using the 'set as home page' at the bottom of all pages.
    We have also completed the first of two phases to allow greater customisation of the home page to make it as useful as possible to our users.

    Redevelopment of timesheetHR
    expressHR is currently redeveloping its timesheetHR application to be wholly web delivered. The first phase of this new version is due for release in the coming month with subsequent releases occurring over the next 6 months so that all citrix delivery will have ceased by end of 2006. The new application will be based on expressHR tool set ObjectSQL and ICE which has been developed using Microsoft ASP, VB and SQL technologies. The application will be delivered via our ASP hosting centre from servers running Microsoft Windows 2003 plus Microsoft SQL 2005. This new application will enable users to carry out all back office timesheet processing currently offered, but with the benefit that they will be able to do this from any location with a browser. In addition as the functionality is web delivered we will be better able to distribute functionality and information to wider user groups such as Recruitment Managers and Suppliers.

    Release of Super User Tools
    expressHR has now rolled out to all its sites a set of super users tools which enable customers to take greater control of their day to day data. These tools will be further enhanced over the coming months.

    Release of Scheduler
    expressHR has just rolled out the first deployment of its unique scheduler functionality to allow the rapid placement of staff within the care and industrial recruitment space. This enhancement to expressHR world leading application engageHR will ensures it stays in the forefront of technology designed to drive recruitment efficiency.

    New Hierarchy Release
    The hierarchy functionality that manages system user's permissions to view data has been upgraded to a new dynamic interface to allow much easier administration for its users.

    Launch of new ITS
    expressHR is pleased to announce the rollout of its new Issue Tracking System *ITS) to provide enhanced customer support. This new application is based on expressHR successful tool set ObjectSQL/ICE.
